Norwood Scale for Androgenic Alopecia

First introduced by Dr.James Hamilton, then known as the Hamilton-Norwood scale, today is referred to as the Norwood scale. It was revised by Dr.O'Tar Norwood in the 1970s as a guide to determine one's level of baldness.

This guide was not meant to be perfect, it's just a simple guide to gauge one's level of baldness. The following patterns of hair loss are what most men would see when looking in the mirror. Some men may see a variation of two or more pictures going on at once. Use this scale to judge your current level and a reference for further treatment if necessary.
